🚒 DON'T PARK IN FRONT OF A FIRE HYDRANT - HERE IS WHY!

You might think breaking the windows and running the hose through the car is unnecessary, petty, or inefficient... but for firefighters, there is NO OTHER OPTION.


A car was illegally parked and locked right in front of a fire hydrant. When fire engines arrived for an emergency, there was no space to lay the hose at ground level around the car.


So what did firefighters do? They broke the glass and passed the hose straight THROUGH the car - one end to the hydrant, one end to the fire ground.


Important Facts Everyone Should Know:

1. It is NOT revenge, it is NECESSITY:

 Firefighters don't have time to find the owner. Every second counts in a fire. They are legally authorized to damage any property that blocks emergency operations.


2. Hose Cannot Be Bent Sharply: 

A charged fire hose at 100+ PSI cannot make a sharp bend around a car. It will kink and stop water supply. It needs to be laid straight.


3. Parking Near Hydrant is ILLEGAL: In most countries, parking within 15 feet (4.5 meters) of a hydrant is a violation. You will not only get fined, but you will also be responsible for the damage.


A Message to All Citizens:

Please, never park in front of fire hydrants, fire station gates, or emergency access points. Your wrong parking can cost someone their life and your car its windows.


Emergency services always try to avoid property damage, but when life is at stake, fire control is the first priority, not your car.


Be a responsible citizen. Keep hydrants clear.
